The founder, Grant Ward, and his team have more than 50 years of experience in the Land Surveying Profession. Grant Ward has been licensed to practice since 1975. Grant himself has attended numerous surveyor conventions and seminars. He has also been invited to speak at meetings across Michigan. His titles include: Director, Treasurer and President of the Southeast Chapter of the Michigan Society of Registered Land Surveyors.

Grant Ward Surveyors has been responsible for the design, approval and layout for the boat race courses in Detroit, Sylvan Lake, Pontiac Lake, Stony Creek and St. Clair some since 1979. The team’s achievements also include establishing control and layout for the Oakland-Orion Airport, Oakland-Pontiac Airport and Selfridge Air National Guard Base.

Grant was a contractor for the Remonumentation Program for Oakland Township, Milford Township, Springfield Township and a third of Farmington Township. This involved researching, verifying and documenting nearly 450 of the Original Government Corners which were originally established around 1820.

His hobbies include woodworking, clock and knife making. Has ridden over 380,000 miles on BMW motorcycles visiting about 45 states and Canada.
